Technical College of the Rockies based in Delta Colorado is the latest institution to demonstrate a commitment to student well-being by choosing to partner with innovative mental health solution, TalkCampus. With TalkCampus, students now have free access to instant, ongoing peer support via their smartphones, to allow them to feel connected to other students, their university, whilst building a community of support along the way.
"We are excited to partner with TalkCampus here at the Technical College of the Rockies and provide a space for our students to engage in conversations regarding mental wellness with other students internationally," said Allen Golden, Director at TCR.
The online peer support offered by TalkCampus will provide TCR students with access to a safe, supportive community where they can discuss their wellbeing, alongside various other health resources that TCR are in the process of implementing on campus.
TalkCampus provides a 24/7, peer support community where students can receive support for their well-being outside TCR’s traditional support systems. The ability to connect with peers across the globe, as well as real-time moderation from trained professionals, was a key element that appealed to TCR.
‘We are really pleased to be able to offer our services to TCR! Life can be incredibly tough for students, especially in the current climate. We know that bringing students together to share what they are going through and to show them they are not alone can make it easier to cope. Social connection is such a powerful force when you are struggling and our community can make a real difference whatever time of day or night’ Jennifer Russell, Clinical Director TalkCampus.
