We're excited to introduce Bloom, a new painting experience inside TalkCampus where you can get creative alongside other students.
It's somewhere to spend a study break, unwind after lectures or enjoy a bit of company when you don't feel like chatting. Choose a colour and get stuck in. You don't need to be good at art to enjoy it.
More ways to spend time with your student community
TalkCampus has always been about connecting with other students. Through peer-to-peer support, you can share what's happening in your life and hear from people with experiences like yours.
But conversation isn't the only way to get to know a community. Sometimes it's easier to feel part of things when there's something to do together.
That's the idea behind Bloom. It gives you a way to paint alongside your peers and enjoy being part of the TalkCampus community without having to think of something to post. A bit like sitting with friends while everyone gets on with their own thing.
We want to meet students where they are. If you feel like talking, you can. If you'd rather spend a while painting, there's now a place for that too.
A creative way to try mindfulness
Mindfulness doesn't have to mean closing your eyes and sitting still. It can be as simple as paying attention to what you're doing: choosing a colour, following a shape or noticing a detail you hadn't spotted before.
With Bloom, you've got something to focus on that isn't your next deadline. You can take your time with it, try a colour you wouldn't normally choose and see what you enjoy.
There's no need to make anything impressive. Most of us spend enough of our week having our work assessed. This is something you can do just because you feel like it.
Paint alongside the community
What we're most excited about is bringing students together through something creative. Bloom is a shared experience with the wider TalkCampus community, so you can enjoy painting in the company of other students, wherever you're joining from.
You might dip in between classes or settle in for a longer break at the end of the day. However it fits into your routine, we hope it becomes somewhere you enjoy spending time.
