Arab Open University Launches Peer-to-Peer Support Platform, TalkCampus.

"We are very excited that our students will have a safe place where they can express what they are going through in a professionally moderated, nonjudgemental environment, without compromising their privacy."

Arab Open University is a sustainable development and educational non-profit project based in Lebanon and is the latest institute to launch TalkCampus. The team at AOU partnered with TalkCampus as a way to provide their students with confidential, round-the-clock support wherever they are in the world.

With TalkCampus, students have free access to instant, ongoing peer support via their smartphones within a familiar and intuitive network. While traditional support services have a vital role to play for student mental health, online peer support plays a powerful role for upstream, early, and ongoing intervention.

“We are incredibly excited to offer TalkCampus to our students. AOU prides itself on providing students with a supportive environment, and we know all students have different experiences and needs. By introducing peer support into our support offering, all students, including those who may have difficulty engaging with traditional services, can get access to the support they need, 24/7. We are very excited that our students will have a safe place where they can express what they are going through in a professionally moderated, nonjudgemental environment, without compromising their privacy. We encourage all our students to take advantage of this fantastic resource.” Open Arab University.

TalkCampus is customized to each institution, so students will see the AOU student services embedded within the app ensuring they know exactly what support is available to them and how they can access this. In addition, real-time escalation ensures that students who are at a higher level of risk get the support they need.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming our second Lebonese institute to the TalkCampus community. It’s not easy to admit that you’re struggling and we are excited to be able to offer an engaging place for AOU students to take the first steps to get support. Peer support can be a very powerful tool for building resilience and is a wonderful addition to AOU’s existing support services.” Andrew Welch, Head of Partnerships at TalkCampus.

TalkCampus is a 24/7 global peer support network for students. Supporting over 500,000 students worldwide with real time moderation and escalation. If you would like to explore how TalkCampus can support your students we’d love to hear from you. Book a Demo - https://www.talkcampus.io
