St. Lawrence University joins TalkCampus For Student Peer Support

St Lawrence University joins TalkCampus

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with St. Lawrence University, New York! The university is dedicated to enhancing student mental health, with invaluable support from a grant provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

To complement their existing wellbeing offerings, St Lawrence prioritised the integration of TalkCampus, increasing access for all their students to online, 24/7 peer support.

Every day, every hour on TalkCampus, we see how connecting with other students, with ‘people like me’, promotes those brave conversations that help people get the support they need. What really helps is not just the warmth of empathy that they receive, but the stories of recovery, and better, stories of achievement, that bring real hope where it has been lost.” - Dr Richard Graham, Chief Clinical Officer

Additionally, we wanted to highlight a really impressive existing initiative the university runs - 'Question, Persuade, and Refer' training. This program equips students with the skills to identify and address suicidal thoughts in their peers, thereby cultivating a campus environment that is safer and more nurturing.

We hope the integration of this training with TalkCampus is poised to foster a resilient and supportive campus. We are looking forward to welcoming St Lawrence students to our growing community!
