Minnesota State Community and Technical College Launches with TalkCampus

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

Thanks to an innovative mental health solution, Minnesota State Community and Technical College students now have free access to instant and ongoing peer support via their smartphones.

M State is the latest institution to commit to supporting the well-being of students by partnering with TalkCampus, making it possible for students to connect with each other 24/7 and foster a community of support.

“We’re excited to offer TalkCampus to students as a resource to support mental health well-being 24/7 and where they are at,” said M State Dean of Students Shawn Anderson. “This new service complements our professional counselling services, and we expect the combination of online peer support through TalkCampus and our existing student support services will have a positive impact on the student experience at M State.”

The app is customised for M State students, with all of M State’s student services embedded in the application. Students will be able to talk with others worldwide while also having support options specific to their needs and place of study. Real-time escalation means that students who are at high levels of risk will get the support they need.

“Talking about your mental health isn’t easy, but we’ve designed TalkCampus to make those first steps as familiar, intuitive and accessible as possible. Having a safe community where students around the world can come together to share their ups and downs can be a very powerful tool for building resilience and is a wonderful addition to M State’s existing services,” said Jennifer Russell, TalkCampus clinical director.

Over half a million students worldwide with real-time moderation and escalation. If you would like to explore how TalkCampus can support your students we’d love to hear from you. Book a Demo - https://www.talkcampus.io
